The purpose of using SourceForge is to :

The SourceForge Technical Summary Page is the starting point to access the above SourceForge tools.

The Northumbria RAQUEL Database System website provides comprehensive information about the vision, specification, and design of the RAQUEL language and the RAQUEL DBMS & its architecture.

The above 2 Internet locations, which are interlinked by URLs, are the 2 main sites of the Raquel Database System project, ("raqueldbsystem").
This page is the Home Web Site of the project on SourceForge.

Project Information

RAQUEL is the name of a relational database programming language
          and also
RAQUEL is the name of the database management system that executes that language.

Open Source Project
The RAQUEL Database System is an Open Source Project.
A prototype of the DBMS is being developed into a usable system; a single-user system will come first, and eventually evolve into a multi-user system.
A GUI application has been developed as a DBMS 'frontend' so users can try out the RAQUEL notation.
Contributors to the project are welcome.
C++ programming contributions would be particularly welcome, but there are a number of other forms of contribution which would also be useful.
Planned Benefits of the RAQUEL Database System
Language
An entirely algebraic language, more powerful, flexible and easier-to-use than SQL. It is extendable so that it can manipulate a variety of different kinds of data stored in relations (i.e. is automatically object-relational).
DBMS
A modular stack architecture that can be tailored to different kinds of circumstances. It also accommodates plug-ins to support different kinds of data, and (to maximise performance) different kinds of physical storage.
